Battalion Swimming Gala Congratulations to 1st Tewkesbury for winning the swimming gala on Saturday 19th Feb which saw many of the BB Companies in the Battalion joining together for the annual Swimming Gala. This year’s event was held at the new pool in Evesham and provided a great facility for both competitors and spectators.
The Junior Section races were closely fought and 6th Cheltenham, making a welcome return to the Gala after a number of years, won many of the early events. The new novelty races went down well, especially the Pyjama race, and there were good numbers taking part in all the events.
Company Section competitors also had Pyjama races to enter, along with the new underwater race, with 3 swimmers making it to the end of the pool. 1st Charlton Kings and 1st Tewkesbury battled closely throughout the Gala to score points, with 5th Gloucester and 6th Cheltenham locked in competition for 3rd place.
Bowling Competition
1st Malvern won the bowling competition held in Stroud on Saturday 22 January
Nathan Warren won best individual score with 161 points and his result will go forward to the District competition.

Gloucestershire Battalion Website Goes Live
The Gloucestershire Battalion website went live with thanks to the Boys at 1st Charlton Kings, hopefully they can now keep it updated.

The Gloucestershire Battalion Boys' Brigade is a modern, forward looking, co-educational youth movement for the 21st Century. Most people across the county live less than 30 minutes drive from their nearest Boys' Brigade Group - so there will be a Boys' Brigade Group closer than you think. Why not take some time to explore our companies page and find a Boys' Brigade group near you.
The Gloucestershire Battalion Boys' Brigade provides a balanced programme of activities for children and young people from 4 to 18 years old. We hope through the Boys' Brigade programmes will be able to make a positive contribution to a young person's life. The Boys' Brigade was formed over 125 years and The Gloucestershire Battalion has been a Battalion involved within the Boys’ Brigade organisation for over 70 years.
We recognise that the influences surrounding our young people are not always helpful and that too many lose control at great cost to themselves, their families and the community. The answer is to catch the energy and enthusiasm of youth and to channel it purposefully.
Our work is split into age groups as follows:
Anchor Section - for Boys aged 4 to 8 years
Junior Section - for Boys aged 8 to 11 years
Company Section - for Boys aged 11 to 15 years
Seniors - for young men aged 15 to 18 years
The Object of The Boys' Brigade is:
"The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness."
